Our evidence-based psychodiagnostics are based on the American internist and psychiatrist George L Engel’s internationally recognised Biopsychosocial Model of health and disease. It’s an integrative approach that looks at psychological factors – attitudes, patterns of thought, behaviour, and stress – biological factors – genetic predisposition, biochemical processes and metabolic disorders – and social factors – roles, expectations and relationships – and considers them as an intertwined whole. The dynamic interactions of the three areas have a significant effect on the emergence and progress of disorders, their healing processes and, most importantly, on their prevention.
